No one does it like Elie Saab....

I just wanted to pay tribute to one of my favourite dress designers, Elie Saab. As a fashion designer myself, there are many established designers that I look up to and aspire to be as good as and Elie Saab is definitely one of them. His dresses are breath-taking and look so beautiful, and so far I have not seen any celebrity step out in one of his dresses and look less than stunning.
So here are a few of his dresses from the catwalk and on celebs.

Designers in the spotlight: Bunmi Koko

Bunmi Olaye has had a great career so far, and considering she only graduated from UEL in 2009 and set up her label Bunmi Koko in the same year, she has done pretty well for herself! Her and her partner Francis Udom were on JP Morgan's Powerlist 2011. Her graduate collection and collections to follow blew audiences away. There has been great interest in her pieces from the likes of Michelle Obama and Mel B, who has been spotted in a few of her dresses. Bunmi Koko focuses on ready-to-wear and couture pieces influenced by her Nigerian heritage and her husband's Scottish background.

Here are some of her great designs, that helped land her a spot at NYFW this year!

Style Inspiration - Victoria Beckham

Victoria Beckham is an inspiration in many ways, not only is she a mother of four and wife, but she is also a fashion designer who has managed to quickly grab the attention of the fashion world. Her shows at New York Fashion Week so far have been incredible and when she launched her bags, they sold out online within hours. Her designs have been worn by Eva Longoria, Elle McPherson, Olivia Palermo and of course herself. Her personal style is chic and timeless and this shows in all her designs. No one wears a black vest and leather jacket like Victoria, so here are a few style moments of hers which I absolutely adore. Enjoy xx

Designers in the spotlight: Thakoon

Thakoon was born in Thailand and raised in Omaha, Nebraska. He started his career in fashion by working as a merchandiser for J. Crew and writer for Harper's Bazaar. He then decided to study fashion at Parsons School of Design. After showing in 2004, for the first time during Fashion Week, Thakoon became one of New York's most promising talents. In 2006, he was nominated for the CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund, and in 2007, thanks to Anna Wintour, he designed a range for Gap.
Thakoon's designs are described as "forward-looking and timelessly feminine". Celebrities who love him include Sarah Jessica Parker, Rachel Bilson and Demi Moore.
Check out some of his pieces below and for the rest of his collections go to www.thakoon.com.

Designers in the spotlight: Sophie Hulme

There are a lot of new, independent fashion labels out there and I've decided that every week I will dedicate a blog post to one of them to showcase how much fresh talent there is out there.
This week's post is dedicated to Sophie Hulme. Sophie graduated from Kingston University in 2007 with Student of the Year and Best Collection awards. She started her own label two months after graduating after much interest in her graduate collection. The Telegraph has named her as one of London's brightest talents. Of her collections, Sophie has said that she doesn't follow trends, but uses masculine influences to give feminine pieces a new toughness, which are supposed to build a capsule collection. She is now in her third season, as is only going from strength to strength.
Check out a few of her items from her recent collection- you can see all her collections on her website www.sophiehulme.com.
